The Reserve Bank on Friday announced the resignation of the curator of Residual Debt Services Limited.

Deputy Governor and Chief Executive Officer of the Prudential Authority, Kuben Naidoo, announced the resignation of Tom Winterboer as the curator of Residual Debt Services Limited (RDS) with effect from 31 March 2018.

The Deputy Governor further announced the appointment of Craig Du Plessis of PricewaterhouseCoopers as the new curator of RDS with effect from 1 April 2018.

As per the African Bank website, RDS is the same legal entity as the former African Bank Limited. It was renamed on 4 April 2016, when the old African Bank surrendered its banking license under the Bank Act, 94 of 1990.

“Mr Du Plessis worked closely with the outgoing curator on the restructuring of RDS and played a pivotal role as his advisor," Naidoo said.

He thanked Winterboer for his significant contribution to delivering a successful restructuring plan for RDS and stabilising its operations during his tenure as curator. – SAnews.gov.za
