Pretoria – Government says it has postponed the release of the Inter-Ministerial Task Team report into security upgrades at President Jacob Zuma’s residence in Nkandla due to preparations around the state funeral of late former President Nelson Mandela.

Government is aware of the undertaking it gave recently to release the report of the Inter-Ministerial Task Team investigation into security upgrades at President Jacob Zuma’s houses at Nkandla.

“However, in view of preparations for the state funeral of former President Nelson Mandela, government is unable to release the report this week,” said government in a statement released by Government Communications and Information System (GCIS) on Monday.

Last week, Cabinet deliberated on the presentation by the Minister of Public Works Thulas Nxesi on the Inter-Ministerial Task Team report.

Cabinet endorsed the recommendations and directed that the report be released to the public.
