Public Protector meets President Zuma

Pretoria - Public Protector Adv Busisiwe Mkhwebane paid a courtesy call on President Jacob Zuma on Tuesday morning, says the Presidency.

It was their first meeting since Mkhwebane was appointed as the Public Protector.

“President Zuma congratulated Adv Mkhwebane on her appointment and pledged his and government's support and cooperation as she fulfils her constitutional responsibilities.

“The President reiterated the importance of all Chapter 9 institutions in our constitutional democracy,” said the Presidency.

The Presidency said Mkhwebane thanked the President for the opportunity to meet and said she looked forward to constructive working relations with government. - SAnews.gov.za
