Probe underway into Free State bus crash

Pretoria - The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) has dispatched accident reconstruction experts to investigate a bus crash that claimed the lives of 11 soldiers on the R712 road near the Golden Gate in the Free State on Friday.

The crash occurred around noon when a military bus transporting about 40 people overturned on a winding road.

The RTMC has sent condolences to the families, colleagues and friends of the deceased and it has also wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, motorists are advised to use alternative routes as the road will be closed for an extended period of time while investigations are underway. – SAnews.gov.za
