President Zuma to visit Nigeria, DRC

President Jacob Zuma will visit Owerri City in the Imo State of Nigeria after his State visit to Zambia.

The Presidency on Friday said President Zuma will travel to Nigeria to strengthen socio-economic relations and further deepen existing cooperation in the field of education.

During the visit, the President is expected to visit the Rochas Foundation and Hall of Fame, as well as address a number of stakeholders in Imo State, including business and traditional leaders.

The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Okorocha, will also confer on President Zuma the Imo Merit Award, the highest award in the State conferred on distinguished personalities who have made a difference in the development of their communities.

President Zuma will proceed to Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Sunday, where, in his capacity as chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), he will hold discussions with President Joseph Kabila Kabange on the issues of peace and security in the Great Lakes region, particularly the situation in the DRC. - SAnews.gov.za
