Pretoria – President Jacob Zuma will, from Tuesday, resume public activities after resting at home.

“President Jacob Zuma will resume public activities next week after resting for a full week to recover from a demanding schedule,” said the Presidency on Saturday.

The President has been working from home after a short stint in hospital. Doctors had felt he needed to be hospitalised for a thorough check up following a demanding schedule. He was discharged on 8 June.

He missed the Cabinet Lekgotla earlier this week, which was chaired Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa.

President Zuma’s first engagement will be the State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Tuesday. He is expected to outline his new administration’s Programme of Action.

The address will be broadcast live on radio and television from 7pm.

He will attend the debate on his State of the Nation Address on 18 and 19 June and respond to the debate on 20 June.

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa will address a The New Age/SABC briefing on 18 June, while Ministers and Deputy Ministers will participate in media interviews in various languages in order to unpack the SONA for the public. – SAnews.gov.za
