Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has been discharged from hospital following a procedure to remove gall stones, the Presidency said on Sunday.
The President was admitted to hospital on Saturday evening to undergo the scheduled procedure.
The gall stones were discovered during a routine medical check-up about two months ago.
The period of recess in Parliament and Cabinet provided an opportunity to have the procedure done.
The Presidency said that doctors are pleased with the outcome of the operation and that President Zuma will spend the next few days resting and recuperating at home.
He will also work from home during this period.
“The Presidency wishes the President well and a speedy recovery,” it said. - SAnews.gov.za
