President Zuma casts his vote

Wednesday, August 3, 2016

Pretoria – President Jacob Zuma has cast his vote at Ntolwane Primary School in KwaNxamalala, in his home town, Nkandla, following the normal voting process, just like all other ordinary South Africans who will be voting today.

He was accompanied by his wife, First Lady Thobeka Madiba Zuma.

President Zuma held his green barcoded ID in his hand as he waited in the queue, while local residents ululated and sang.

It was all smiles as he chatted with IEC officials and went through the processes before casting his ballot at the booth.

There are more than 26 million registered voters, who will be making their way to their voting stations, for what has been described as the most hotly contested municipal poll since 1994.

The day has been declared a public holiday to enable all eligible voters the opportunity to exercise their democratic right to vote. – SAnews.gov.za
