President Ramaphosa to visit Angola, Botswana, Namibia

President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Friday undertake working visits to Angola, Botswana and Namibia, the Presidency said on Wednesday.

In his capacity as chair of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), President Ramaphosa will hold consultative meetings with his counterparts President João Lourenço of Angola and President Hage Geingob of Namibia, respectively.

Angola is the current chair of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation, while Botswana hosts the SADC Secretariat and Namibia is the incoming SADC chair after South Africa.

President Ramaphosa will then travel to Botswana on Saturday to hold a consultative meeting with President Seretse Khama Ian Khama, the Presidency added.

The President will be accompanied by the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Lindiwe Sisulu and the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula. - SAnews.gov.za
