Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma had no role to play in the appointment of Hlaudi Motsoeneng as the Chief Operations Officer of the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), the Presidency said.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Presidency said it had noted with great concern statements in the media alleging the involvement of President Zuma in the appointment of Motsoeneng.

“The President has no role to play in the appointment of SABC management or staff, and did not play any role in the said appointment. Reports to the contrary are inaccurate and unfortunate,” the Presidency said. – SAnews.gov.za
