Pretoria – Transport Minister Dipuo Peters is expected to officially launch “Operation Tselantle” - a road infrastructure maintenance and rehabilitation programme - in the North West, tomorrow.

The initiative, which will be rolled out across the country, is targeted at eradicating potholes and rehabilitating and maintaining road infrastructure in the provinces.

The official launch in Mahikeng forms part of government’s delivery of key infrastructure, which has high economic influence and benefits for South Africa, said the department.

The minister will also hand over 100 bicycles to learners from some of the surrounding areas. This is part of the department’s mandate to facilitate access to non-motorised transport for learners who walk long distances to and from school. – SAnews.gov.za
