Police arrest man who threatened to shut down Moses Mabhida Stadium

Police in KwaZulu-Natal have arrested a man who allegedly threatened that he and his followers would shut down Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday to prevent the MTN8 Cup final between Orlando Pirates FC and Mamelodi Sundowns from taking place.

The suspect had gathered a group of people at King Dinizulu Park in Durban to stage a march. However, those who were with him managed to flee.

“Police are reiterating that anyone who threatens to cause instability will be dealt with in accordance with the law,” the South African Police Service (SAPS) said in a statement. -SAnews.gov.za
