Petrol price to drop in August

Pretoria - South African motorists will be able to breathe a slight sigh of relief next week - as petrol and paraffin prices are to drop.

The retail price of petrol will come down by 21 cents as of next Wednesday, the Department of Minerals and Energy announced on Friday.

The department said that the retail price of 93 ULP and LRP and Petrol 95 ULP and LRP will drop by 21 cents a litre.

The price of wholesale Diesel 0.05 percent Sulphur will go down by 20 cents a litre while that of Diesel 0.005 percent Sulphur will fall by 21 cents.

The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will drop by 14 cents. The Single Maximum national retail price for illuminating paraffin will drop by 19 cents.

For the period under review of 26 June to 30 July the average international product prices of diesel, illuminating paraffin and petrol decreased.
