The opening of two newly built police stations and a Ministerial Crime Prevention Community Imbizo will form part of efforts to improve service delivery in the Waterberg District in Limpopo on Tuesday.
The Deputy Minister of Police, Dr Polly Boshielo, together with the South African Police Service (SAPS) top management, led by the National Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola, and the Limpopo Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Jan Petrus Scheepers, will officially open the newly built Bakenberg and Villa Nora Police Stations and lead a Ministerial Crime Prevention Community Imbizo.
“This joint initiative aims to improve service delivery, particularly in rural and previously underserved communities, thus enhancing the safety and security of residents,” the SAPS said in a statement on Monday.
The SAPS said the Crime Prevention Imbizo will provide a platform for meaningful, constructive engagement among SAPS leadership, traditional leaders, community members and key stakeholders to collaborate on efforts to combat and prevent crime.
“Key focus areas will include Gender-Based Violence and Femicide, stock theft and other prevalent crimes affecting communities within the Waterberg District," said the SAPS. -SAnews.gov.za
