To promote strong and lasting partnerships that contribute to inclusive economic growth, the Acting Premier of the North West, Kenetswe Mosenogi, is set to meet with private sector representatives this week.
The Premier’s engagement on Thursday, aims to mobilise funds for the North West Development Fund.
“This fund is deeply rooted in [the] public interest with a primary focus on driving infrastructure development, creating jobs, and promoting education and vocational training for the previously disadvantaged communities of our province,” the statement read.
According to the provincial government, this engagement is part of a series of meetings that began in March this year, following Premier Lazarus Mokgosi’s announcement that the province intends to launch the development fund.
During his State of the Province Address (SOPA) in February, Mokgosi announced that his government has allocated R24 million to establish a North West Development Fund to accelerate development initiatives across the province.
He said the fund will be established with a special focus on stimulating economic growth and creating sustainable job opportunities.
The stakeholder engagement session will take place at Anew Resort, formerly known as Hunters Rest Resort, in Rustenburg. – SAnews.gov.za
