Pretoria – The Mpumalanga Provincial Government has signed an agreement with an Italian export credit agency, which provides financial support to Italian companies that are expanding into foreign territories.
“The citizens of Mpumalanga can expect vastly improved service delivery in world-class infrastructure facilities,” Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza said.
The agreement, which was signed on Thursday, will allow the provincial government - through the Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency (MEGA) - to mobilise finance for large-scale infrastructure projects.
“This agreement will create an opportunity for South African companies and commercial banks to partner with their Italian counterparts in the implementation of these projects,” Office of the Mpumalanga Premier spokesperson Zibonele Mncwango said.
He said these projects form part of the interventions that were announced by Premier Mabuza in his State of the Province Address this year. – SAnews.gov.za
