Investment opportunities and the progress made to date at the Fetakgomo-Tubatse Special Economic Zone (FTSEZ) will be showcased on Tuesday during a ministerial visit scheduled to take place at the site in Limpopo.

Trade, Industry and Competition (dtic) Minister Parks Tau and the Premier of Limpopo, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, are set to lead the ministerial engagement. They will be accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Dr Dickson Masemola; the MEC for Economic Development, Environment and Tourism in Limpopo, Dr Tshitereke Matibe; the Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune District Municipality, Minah Bahula, and the Mayor of Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality, Dorah Mphethi.

The engagement will be preceded by a visit to Acting Queen Manyaku Thulare of the Bapedi Kingship.

The day’s programme includes a site tour of the SEZ, as well as an engagement with media.

“The objective of the day’s activities is to provide an opportunity for a fact-to-face engagement between national government, provincial government, local stakeholders, industry representatives, and traditional leadership on the development and implementation of the FTSEZ,” the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition said in a statement.

The engagement also presents a strategic opportunity to showcase the progress of the FTSEZ, strengthen partnerships with government and industry stakeholders, communicate investment opportunities, and demonstrate the potential contribution of the SEZ to industrialisation, economic growth, beneficiation, and job creation within Limpopo province and South Africa. – SAnews.gov.za
