Pretoria - Public Service and Administration Minister Ngoako Ramatlhodi has warned members of the public to be cautious about responding to a post on his personal Facebook account, saying it is a scam.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry for Public Service and Administration said the account had been hacked and individuals had posted an update on his timeline promising a grant from the United Kingdom-based European Development Fund.
The Ministry said the body funds development projects such as education, rural development, employment creation and agriculture, among others, in the Southern Africa “with the intention to swindle unsuspecting followers”.
“Minister Ramatlhodi warns social network users to guard against criminals posing as public figures with intention to deceive unsuspecting and vulnerable persons over promises of opportunities to make easy money,” said the Ministry. – SAnews.gov.za
