Police Minister Fikile Mbalula has given his full support for law enforcement agencies, including the SAPS, IPID, SIU, NPA and the Hawks (Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation) in their efforts towards stamping the authority of the state towards ridding South Africa of corruption and criminality.

“I am very cognisant of the enormous work we started and am alive to the hours and days of hard toiling by our dedicated law enforcement agencies – as momentum now hits, I want to assure each and every member of our investigating teams and our support staff that I am fully behind these noble efforts and they must continue to do their work without fear or favour,” said Minister Mbalula on Thursday.

Minister Mbalula further assured South Africans that the country abides by the rule of law and there are “no holy-cows in the due processes and take-downs that are ensuing”.

Law enforcement agencies under the Ministry are engaging in operations to ensure that justice is done and importantly that justice is seen to be done.

Minister Mbalula has requested that police be given the space to do their work “without any undue pressure or influence from any quarter”. - SAnews.gov.za
