Pretoria - Water and Environmental Affairs Deputy Minister Rejoice Mabudafhasi is expected to visit a project in Nkandla to give a report back on progress of the implementation plan to alleviate the water scarcity.

The visit to Qedisimo Sendlala Project on Tuesday follows information brought to Mabudafhasi's attention regarding water challenges, which affected the progress of priority projects and communities' access to water.

Mabudafhasi met with First Lady Sizakele Khumalo in February to present a programme of action aimed at addressing water challenges, which affect greening projects and the community in general.

The other objective for Mabudafhasi's visit will be to join the local women when they cultivate their vegetable garden.

Mabudafhasi is expected to be accompanied by senior government officials, including KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Development, Lydia Johnson and Nkandla Mayor Zwelabo Zulu, as well as officials from the department.
