Pretoria - State Security Minister David Mahlobo has requested the Inspector General of Intelligence to conduct an investigation into the alleged claims of improper conduct against members of the State Security Agency.
The investigation will seek to establish the facts and get to the bottom of allegations made about members of the State Security Agency, Minister Mahlobo said in a statement on Wednesday.
Weekend newspapers reported that there was a special agency - made up of 15 members - operating within the State Security Agency. It is alleged that the team, which consists of police officers and military intelligence agents, operates from a house in Pretoria.
“As indicated before, we are committed to professionalising the service and will deal decisively with ill-discipline, irrespective of any person involved,” Minister Mahlobo said. – SAnews.gov.za
