Pretoria – The Department of Basic Education says the marking of the National Senior Certificate examination scripts has been completed.

“All the 35 000 markers in 118 marking centres concluded the process as scheduled on December 15. Data capturing commenced immediately afterwards and that process has also been completed,” said the department in a statement on Friday.

The department also announced that it has implemented a new Statement of Results for matrics who wrote the 2013 NSC exams. It has special security features including the RSA Watermark and a unique serial number.

Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga will release the 2013 NSC examination results on 6 January 2014. The results will be available at schools, in print and online media the following day on 7 January 2014.
