Maintenance to affect services at Helen Joseph

Tuesday, November 24, 2015

Pretoria - The Gauteng Health Department says services at Helen Joseph Hospital will be suspended on Wednesday to make way for the scheduled installation of a change-over switch for all the hospital’s generators.

The department on Tuesday said power will be shut down in areas such as the intensive care unit (ICU), theatre, renal unit, X-ray, mortuary and all lifts between 6am to 3pm.

“During this time, the hospital will not be admitting any patients,” said the department.

It advised community members to not present or refer patients to the hospital during the period.

“They should, instead, visit their local clinics or present at either Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital, Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital or Leratong Hospital. Prior arrangements have been made with those facilitates,” said the department. - SAnews.gov.za
