Tuesday, August 23, 2016

Pretoria – Senior education officials in Limpopo are set to meet today to thrash out ways to improve education in that province.

The meeting will be led by the province’s MEC for Education, Ishmael Kgetjepe.

“The continuous improvement of quality education is a priority in the province,” said the provincial Education Department in a statement.

The meeting will focus on the review of some departmental policies, new organisational structure and audit issues. It will also look at the province’s readiness for the 2016 National Senior Certificate examinations.

“The smooth running of education in Vuwani is also going to be part of the discussions. The meeting will also look at matters of school merging,” the department said.

The department said it is also working on making sure that the temporary teachers, who have not yet been paid, are paid urgently. – SAnews.gov.za
