Last 16 teams at World Cup finalised

Durban - The last sixteen at the 2010 FIFA World Cup has come to light after all group matches concluded on Friday night.

Spain defeated Chile while Switzerland and Honduras drew in the final games.

Only six European teams have managed to qualify for the next round, with two major powerhouses, France and Italy, failing to advance.

Meanwhile, Ghana is the only African team to flourish with hosts South Africa, Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Nigeria out of the tournament.

In Group A, Uruguay and Mexico booked their places, while Argentina and Korea Republic secured their spots in Group B.

USA finished ahead of England in Group C and in Group D Germany and Ghana to the final sixteen.

Netherlands and Japan completed their Group E matches with success to also book places in the next round.

In Group F, Paraguay and Slovakia moved ahead after defending champions Italy made a shocking, early exit in the competition.

Brazil and Portugal are placed first and second in Group G for their next round of action. And finally, in Group H Spain and Chile qualified for the knock-out stages.
