Krejcir fraud case postponed

Pretoria - The fraud case against Czech national Radovan Krejcir was postponed in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court today.

The matter was postponed to 7 April, when a formal bail hearing is expected to get underway.

Krejcir appeared in court on a charge of fraud relating to a R4.5 million insurance claim after he allegedly obtained medical papers that said he had cancer.

Police also wanted to question him in connection with the death of Cyril Beeka, who was gunned down in a drive-by shooting in Cape Town last week.

The Hawks raided Krejcir's house in Bedfordview last week but did not find him on the premises.

It has been alleged that a hit list was found during the raid, which included the names of Beeka, security consultant Paul O'Sullivan and a state prosecutor.

After being on the run for a couple of days, Krejcir handed himself over to the head of Hawks in Gauteng, Lt General Shadrack Sibiya, through his lawyer.
