Pretoria – Learners at Temogo Special School in the North West will get to experience a new dimension of learning when they receive a computer centre.

Deputy Minister of Women, Children and People with Disabilities, Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu, in partnership with the MTN Foundation, will on Wednesday hand over the computer centre at the school for learners with intellectual disabilities, which is situated at Mogwase.

The school was identified as one of the special schools without a computer laboratory equipped with specialised software. This led to learners leaving school without IT/computer skills.

MTN SA Foundation General Manager, Kusile Mtunzi-Hairwadzi, said that they realised the need to help the school achieve its mission to provide learners with quality education and assist in developing their potential by purchasing and donating the equipment that they required.

“We identified the needs and challenges of Temogo Special School through our partnership with the Ministry of Women, Children and People with Disabilities. We hope the donation aids the school in becoming an effective and efficient centre for learning,” said Mtunzi-Hairwadzi. – SAnews.gov.za
