Home Affairs updates on Zimbabwe permits

Friday, September 21, 2018

The Department of Home Affairs says applicants of Zimbabwean Exemption Permits (ZEP) -- who are yet to receive their permits due to their passports having expired in 2017, can submit certified copies of renewed and valid passports at their nearest VFS Global ZEP permit centre.

Alternatively, they can submit them at the VFS Global ZEP centre where they had originally applied.

The final date for applicants to submit copies of their new passports is 30 September 2018. No new applications will be accepted.

Home Affairs spokesperson Thabo Mokgola said the department has to date adjudicated 95 percent of the ZEP applications.

“The remaining five percent is for those applicants whose passports expired in 2017 and have been informed to submit to VFS for finalisation of their applications,” Mokgola said.

Applicants can use the helpline, email or the ZEP Facebook page for any queries and for further assistance.

Alternatively, applicants can reach out in person at enquiry booths in all 10 ZEP centres across South Africa, where staff will address their queries expeditiously.
