Hawks nab alleged cop killers

Pretoria - The Hawks have arrested three suspects believed to be responsible for the murder of North West policeman, Sergeant Keneilwe Seleke.

Seleke, 50, was attacked and stabbed outside his home in Lichtenburg last week.

It is believed that Seleke's attackers stabbed him after they tried to rob him.

The Hawks in Mafikeng tracked down the three suspects, one of them a 19-year-old, and arrested them on Tuesday.

During the arrest, police recovered a pair of bloodied scissors, believed to be have been used in the stabbing.

North West Police Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Zukiswa Mbombo, congratulated the Hawks on the arrests and assured Seleke's family that police would do all in their power to ensure those responsible for the policeman's death remained behind bars.

All three suspects are expected to appear in court on Thursday. - BuaNews
