Tuesday, October 9, 2018

The Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs is set to resume the investigation into the process followed in the naturalisation of the Gupta family.

Last week, the committee said it had concluded the initial phase of the inquiry, which included the collection of all relevant information. However, the committee said it had identified gaps which need to be clarified by certain people to assist it to arrive at a conclusion.

The committee will listen to evidence from various individuals and organisations including Ronald Steyn; the Deputy Director-General (DDG) for Immigration Services Jackie Mackay; Nkidi Mohoboko, the DDG for Human Resources at Home Affairs; Major Kobese, the former Director at Home Affairs’ foreign office, as well as Minister Malusi Gigaba.
