Growth Forum to engage on land, youth issues

Friday, June 15, 2018

Land, employment and youth issues are set to take centre stage at the inaugural Drakensberg Inclusive Growth Forum which kicks off today.

Other topical issues that will be placed on the table include the fourth Industrial revolution and strengthening of the state.

The forum, which is organised under the auspices of the Kgalema Motlanthe Foundation, will take place at the Drakensberg Convention Centre, where President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the keynote address.

The initiative, established by former President Kgalema Motlanthe, aims to contribute to socio-economic development of South Africa and the continent through the facilitation of sustainable access to knowledge, education and economic transformation.

It also aims to contribute to the production of a knowledge-based economy, advocating for human rights and social inclusion.

Through the engagement, government, business, civil society, and the youth will assemble under one roof to share ideas and develop action plans in response to the triple challenges of poverty, inequality and unemployment.

The three-day forum will draw to a close on Sunday. - SAnews.gov.za
