Govt saddened by Mandy Rossouw's death
Pretoria - Government is saddened by the death of prolific journalist Mandy Rossouw, who passed away last night.
It is believed Rossouw, 33, was found dead in her flat by a friend after she failed to arrive for a dinner date. The cause of her death is unknown though reports say that she suffered a short illness.
She was an international correspondent for the Media24 group and recently worked for Eyewitness News. She previously worked as a politics journalist for Beeld and the Mail & Guardian.
Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) acting CEO Phumla Williams expressed condolences to her family, friends and the media industry.
“Rossouw was a seasoned and experienced journalist, whose reporting contributed to shaping South Africa’s discourse,” Williams said on Tuesday, adding that her death was a huge loss to the media industry and South Africa. – SAnews.gov.za
