Johannesburg - The pitch and seating have been completed, renovations are done and the revamped Ellis Park is ready for kick-off tomorrow.

It is here where 62 000 soccer fanatics will gather to witness the opening match of the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup, otherwise known as the Festival of Champions.

Since the beginning of the year, Ellis Park has undergone major changes with additional seating and a new roof added. There are new change rooms, VIP and media areas.

A new five-level car park has also been completed and will accommodate 1 200 cars.

During a visit by BuaNews this morning, construction workers were putting the final touches ahead of the big day.

"I think we are ready to roll," said head of the project Ferrari Jules. Apart from the marquees that were still needed to be put up, everything seemed to be in place.

Meanwhile, a multimillion litre fuel sponsorship has been announced by FIFA and BP South Africa.

In a statement, FIFA said the fuel will guarantee power to all four stadiums in Bloemfontein, Pretoria, Johannesburg and Rustenburg where the Confederation Cup matches will be played.

The fuel will also power generators at all ten stadiums for all 64 of the 2010 World Cup matches.
