Dlamini Zuma to attend AU weekend meeting

Minister in the Presidency, Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, is scheduled to attend the 11th Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU) in Ethiopia that is scheduled to get underway at the weekend.

“The Extraordinary Session will deliberate on the ongoing reform processes, which are intended to establish an effective, efficient and re-energized AU that is capable of achieving continental priorities and goals set out in Agenda 2063,” said the Presidency on Thursday.

Dlamini Zuma will also participate in the sessions as the former chairperson of the AU Commission at the two-day session, which will get underway on Saturday in Addis Ababa.

The sitting will not only discuss plans to realign the organization, it will also seek to develop a sustainable financing model that will reinforce the independence of the African continent. – SAnews.gov.za
