Deputy President impersonated on Twitter

Pretoria - The Office of Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe has noted that a number of impersonators are using his name to communicate on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.

"We wish to put it on record that Deputy President Motlanthe has never registered on Twitter, Facebook or any other social media platform and therefore distances himself from the contents of impersonated accounts," said the Presidency on Wednesday.

The Presidency has requested both Twitter and Facebook to close all accounts purporting to be owned by the Deputy President.
