Cyber safety conference kicks off

Pretoria – A Cyber Safety, Child Protection and Classification Conference, which kicks of today, will draw lessons from international models and look at research and interventions that have yielded positive results.

The conference, which is organised by the Film and Publications Board (FPB), is themed “Stolen innocence: how to protect children in the digital age”.

It will host delegates from South Africa and other countries in the SADC region, as well as Sub-Saharan Africa.

The conference will also seek to assess the growth potential of content distribution in Africa and explore risks in the area of child protection.

Communications Minister Faith Muthambi will deliver the keynote address at the conference, in Muldersdrift. - SAnews.gov.za
