Pretoria - National Police Commissioner Bheki Cele has ordered a nationwide search, led by top Hawks detectives, for a group of men who robbed a North West police station.
"I have ordered the entire police service to cover every inch of ground to track down these brazen robbers and put them behind bars", said an outraged Cele.
The Bedwang Police Station was reportedly robbed by five men, who entered the police station on Sunday under the pretext of reporting a crime. Armed with guns, the men robbed police offices of their guns and other equipment.
Police's Tactical Response Teams and other specialised units have also been roped in to track down the criminals and recover the stolen firearms.
The public have been asked to assist in the search by passing on to the police any information they have on the robbery.
