Pretoria – Mpumalanga Premier David Mabuza has announced a cabinet reshuffle during a special executive council meeting on Wednesday.
This comes after South Africa held successful Local Government Elections on 3 August. The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) declared the elections free and fair.
Changes in the executive council include the appointments of MEC for Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs Vusumuzi Shongwe; MEC for Human Settlements Speedy Mashilo as well as MEC for Public Works Roads and Transport Sasekani Manzini.
Other appointments were that of MEC for Social Development Busi Shiba and MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison Petrus Ngomana.
“You are coming on board at a difficult time in our lives when people out there are expecting a lot from us.
“We commit ourselves to continue to be the servants of the people, and we will ensure that we accelerate the level of service delivery. At the municipal level, we have already deployed capable leaders, who will ensure that the people are served,” Premier Mabuza said.
