Pretoria - Bobby Godsell has resigned as chairman of Eskom's board, a statement issued by the Public Enterprises Ministry has confirmed.
In the statement, Public Enterprises Minister Barbara Hogan said she had received a letter of resignation from Godsell and that his resignation was effective immediately.
The minister thanked him for his commitment to Eskom.
"The minister would like to thank Mr Godsell for his leadership and commitment to Eskom over the past 15 months, and would like to wish him well in the future," the ministry said.
Mpho Makwana has been appointed acting chairperson of the board until a permanent replacement can be found.
The ministry said he had been appointed with the full support of the remaining members of the board.
