Blazer Fridays for the Class of 2010

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Pretoria - Put on your old tie, squeeze into your old blazer, resurrect your school colours ... This Friday, and every Friday until the matric exams are over.

South Africans are being called on to demonstrate their gees by wearing part of their old school uniform in support of the country's Class of 2010, reports SouthAfrica.info.

As South Africa's Grade 12s gear up for their final exams, Brand South Africa, iSchool Africa and the Department of Basic Education have launched Blazer Fridays, calling on the public to get into the school spirit again and "accessorise for a good cause".

"Brand South Africa would like to thank those South Africans that have shown their true spirit of ubuntu by volunteering at the various study centres, facilitating study groups at their homes, declaring study hour on their block so that we contribute to the future of these learners," Brand South Africa CEO, Miller Matola said.

"Our spirit of unity is the common thread that binds us as a nation. We should stand firmly in support of the Class of 2010 as they prepare for their future in a country full of possibilities and opportunities."

Upload your Blazer Friday photos onto www.flytheflagfridays.co.za - first 50 entries will win a Support the Class of 2010 t-shirt.

The Class of 2010 campaign forms part of Brand South Africa's post-World Cup Legacy campaign, which aims to leverage the momentum of the 2010 FIFA World Cup by providing platforms for South Africans to keep achieving and showcasing their "South Africanness" to the world, while entrenching the principles of pride, patriotism and solid citizenship that have been established over the past year.
