The Department of Mineral Resources has appealed to anyone with information on the bus that was set alight with mine-workers on board, to work with law enforcement agencies, to apprehend those responsible.
On Monday evening, six mine-workers died and others were injured when the bus they were travelling in was set alight in Driekop, Limpopo. The mine-workers were on their way to work when the incident happened.
The department has expressed its condolences to the families of the six mine-workers who lost their lives.
“It is understood that the remaining workers sustained injuries during the incident, as they tried to escape the fire,” the department said in a statement on Wednesday.
Police are still investigating the matter. – SAnews.gov.za
