Another Crime Intelligence member arrested

Pretoria - Police have arrested another member of their Crime Intelligence Unit in connection with the 1999 murder of Oupa Abel Ramogibe.

A 52-year-old Lieutenant Colonel was taken into custody by the Hawks on Friday morning, SA Police Service said.

The Lieutenant Colonel is the fourth person arrested in connection with the murder, after Crime Intelligence head, Lieutenant-General Richard Mdluli, Colonel Sebastian Nkosana Ximba and Warrant Officer Samuel Dlomo were also arrested.

Mdluli, Ximba and Dlomo appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday, where they faced charges of murder, attempted murder, intimidation, kidnapping, assault, conspiracy to commit murder, as well as defeating and/or obstructing the course of justice.

The suspect arrested on Friday is expected to face the same charges when he appears in court on Monday, the SAPS said. - BuaNews
