Pretoria - Acting President Edna Molewa (Minister of Environmental Affairs) has extended condolences on behalf of government to the family of Reverend Mcebisi Xundu.
Reverend Xundu was the Anglican Priest and former President of the National Inter-Faith Leaders Council, the Presidency said on Friday.
It said Reverend Xundu was also a veteran of the liberation struggle and the civic struggles, particularly in KwaZulu-Natal townships, during the 1980s.
"He understood his calling as a man of the cloth to mean fighting for human rights, freedom and justice for all. He distinguished himself well in fighting for people in distress and the poor," said the Acting President. - SAnews.gov.za
