Acting Chief Executive seconded to SA Express

Tuesday, April 11, 2017

Pretoria - Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown has supported the secondment of Victor Xaba from Denel Aerostructures to act as the Chief Executive Officer at SA Express.

Xaba’s secondment was proposed following extensive consultations between the boards of Denel and SA Express, and the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE).

His appointment was effective as of 10 April 2017, following the departure on 31 March of SA Express CEO Inati Ntshanga, by agreement with the airline’s board.

“Our State-owned companies collectively employ a wealth of highly skilled South Africans. As part of the executive management team at Denel, Mr Xaba was instrumental in positioning Denel as a leader in the African aerospace industry and will now apply that knowledge at SA Express,” Minister Brown said in a statement on Monday.

Xaba has been the Deputy CEO at Denel Aerostructures, in which he has served in various management capacities for 17 years.

Minister Brown said Xaba is well aware of the challenges SA Express faces and well-equipped with the technical and strategic management skills to help the airline achieve its strategic goals for sustainability.

Minister Brown acknowledged Ntshanga’s contribution to SA Express’s executive management team in defining a new strategic direction. The Minister wished Ntshanga well. -  SAnews.gov.za
