3D action for 2010 viewers

Pretoria - FIFA and Sony Corporation have joined forces to provide football fans around the world with a new viewing experience during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

For the first time in the history of the World Cup, the showpiece will be filmed in 3D. Twenty-five matches, to be viewed in 3D, will be filmed during the tournament.

3D TV is an emerging technology that allows consumers to enjoy three-dimensional movies, television programs and video games in their homes.

FIFA and Sony will unveil details of their partnership on 8 April.
