Zuma sends condolences to Russia over plane crash

President Jacob Zuma has sent condolences to Russia following the devastating plane crash that killed all 71 people on board near the capital Moscow earlier Sunday.

“We extend our condolences to His Excellency President Vladimir Putin, the Government and the people of the Russian Federation.

“The South African people stand with the Russian people, particularly the families of the victims, during this time of mourning,” President Zuma said in a statement on Monday.

The Antonov-148 of Saratov Airlines with 65 passengers and a crew of six was en route from Domodedovo Airport in Moscow to Orsk of the Orenburg Region in western Russia, crashed shortly after leaving Moscow, killing all. – SAnews.gov.za
