Denel will showcase South African engineering, innovation and industrial capability when it participates in the Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) Exhibition for the first time with the Department of Defence as its shareholder.
AAD 2026 will take place from 16 - 20 September 2026, at Air Force Base Waterkloof in Pretoria, under the theme: “Advancing Defence Capability Together”.
The exhibition will provide Denel with an opportunity to reconnect with customers, partners and stakeholders, while exploring new opportunities for growth.
Denel will showcase a range of its defence capabilities, including the T5-52 and Badger landward systems, Rooivalk attack helicopter, missile and unmanned aerial systems, advanced ammunition capabilities and skills developed through the Denel Technical Academy.
Denel Group Chief Executive Officer Tsepo Monaheng said the exhibition will provide an opportunity for the Group to reaffirm its contribution to South Africa’s defence capability.
“AAD 2026 is significant for Denel. It is the first time we participate at the exhibition with the Department of Defence as our shareholder, providing an important platform to reaffirm our contribution to South Africa’s defence capability and the broader defence industrial base.
“Advancing defence capability, together, requires collaboration between government, the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), Armscor, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), industry, customers, partners and our technical and engineering community.
"AAD gives us an opportunity to showcase what Denel has built over many years, communicate the positioning for the future, reconnect with the market and look towards new opportunities for the future,” Monaheng said.
Denel said visitors to its stand at AAD will have an opportunity to engage with its products, technologies and technical specialists.
The exhibition comes as Denel continues with its renewal programme, with the Group seeking to build on its existing capabilities, while strengthening its competitiveness and innovation.
AAD is a biennial exhibition that brings together the defence, aerospace and security sectors, and provides a platform for industry players to showcase technologies, products and capabilities. – SAnews.gov.za
