Pretoria - The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has extended a warm welcome to the new Director-General of the department, Mzamo Michael Mlengana.
Department spokesperson Makenosi Maroo said Mlengana has proven himself as a farmer and leader leading the smallholder farmers at the African Farmer's Association of South Africa where he was the president, and also brings experience from his previous top management positions both from private and public owned entities.
“Furthermore, Mlengana has operated a commercial farm and worked with both smallholder and established farmers. He is a Fulbright Scholar with an MA Degree in Financial Economics and Economic Development from the Graduate School of Economics and International Studies in Denver, Colorado, USA,” Maroo said during the announcement of the appointment on Friday. – SAnews.gov.za
