Sentencing in Flabba case to start today

Wednesday, March 9, 2016

Pretoria - Sentencing proceedings are expected to begin in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court this morning, in the murder case of rap star Nkululeko "Flabba" Habedi.

Habedi, who was a member of hip-hop group Skwatta Kamp, was stabbed in the chest at his home in Alexandra on 9 March last year.

Convicted murderer Sindisiwe Manqele (26) is scheduled to hear how much time she will spend behind bars for killing Habedi.

Manqele, who is out on bail, was found guilty in November of killing Habedi, who was her boyfriend at the time.

She had argued that she stabbed him in self-defence but the court found that there was not enough evidence to prove that. The court instead found that Manqele acted with premeditation. - SAnews.gov.za
