Pretoria - The Department of Basic Education (DBE) says a notice that is being currently circulated regarding the rewriting of Mathematics Paper 2 (Grade 12) is fake and should be ignored.
The department on Thursday said it has come to its attention that the fake notice informs candidates of the rescheduling of the Mathematics P2 examination to 30 November 2015.
“The DBE confirms that this notice has not been issued by it and therefore must be ignored. Candidates can be reassured that there have been no reports of a compromise in the Mathematics P2 examination, written on 2 November 2015,” said the department.
The department said it will fully investigate the source of this document and the mischief makers will be brought to book.
It has requested candidates to remain focused and not be distracted by such notices.
“Any information that needs to be communicated to Grade 12 candidates will be done via the school or through an official announcement made by the Director General.
“The department can confirm that the 2015 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations are proceeding extremely well and there is no cause for concern from any quarter,” said the department. - SAnews.gov.za
